EAは先日、全スタジオで約300～400人を解雇し、Titanfall/Apex Legends開発元のRespawnからも約100人が影響を受けました。

その中で物語デザイナーのHeather Woodward氏の解雇について話題になっています。

Heather Woodward氏はシーズン25で登場する新レジェンド“スパロー”のストーリーを担当しましたが、

そのストーリーを書き上げた翌日に、今回の大規模レイオフがあり解雇通知を受けたとのことです。

4月28日にキャラ登場を祝った投稿をした直後、29日にリストラされるという衝撃的な業界の現実が浮き彫りになっています。

Well, this is awkward but… I was just mass-downsized at Respawn. These things happen and my time with Apex has been a top to bottom blast, my favorite job I’ve ever had.
It’s been a true joy to write Sparrow, I’ll continue to be insufferable about him for weeks to come.
