Major Regional Qualifiers (MRQ) 予選キャンセルについて

Valve(※ゲーム開発元)は、StarLadder Budapest Major 2025の出場チームを決定する過程を含む、今シーズンにおけるCounter-Strike競技全体に影響を与える重要なアップデートを発表しました。

Valveは変更について以下のように説明しています。

『VRS (Valve Regional Standings, 公式ランキング)が目指す目標の一つは、コミュニティイベントを標準化しメジャー大会と統合することです。

現時点において、メジャー出場チームを決定する予選プロセスは不要であり、この予選が混乱を招くものと考えています。そのため、2025年秋のMajor Regional Qualifiers(メジャー地域予選)を中止することを決定しました。

Budapest Majorの出場32チームは、VRSから直接招待で決定されるものとします。』

StarLadderはこの変更を支持します。全ての公式ランキング対象トーナメントがこれまでよりも重要なものとなり、大会スケジュールに一貫性がもたらされることを信じています。

StarLadder Budapest Majorの招待枠配分についての情報は、現在開催中のBlast.tv Austin Major終了後に発表予定です。

これまでと今後のメジャー大会出場チーム決定方法について

メジャー大会の出場チームを決定していた地域予選がなくなり、本戦に出場する32チームは公式ランキングをもとに決定されます。

公式ランキングをあげるためには、Valveが認定する「Tier1」「Tier2」大会に出場しポイントを獲得する必要があります。

これら認定大会と地域予選の開催日程がバッティングすることが課題の一つとして指摘されていました。
