―― Ceb：多くのことを経験してきた中で、本当に難しく、危機的で全てが赤信号のような状態があったと思います。チームとしてどのように乗り越えてきたのでしょうか？

私はチームメイトに対して強い気持ちを持っていますが、危機的な瞬間にはチームメイトの感情を優先して考えることはありませんでした。
こういう時は自分自身に打ち勝ち、有益だと感じる変化を起こす必要があります。
実際に起こり得て、良い結果をもたらす場合があります。
また、選手5人とスタッフを交えてソファーに集まり、3時間近く話し合いをすることもあります。
選手には言えずに溜めてしまっていることがあり、それが不満につながります。
思っていることをお互いに正直に言い合える関係性が非常に重要です。
ただ、人というのはなかなか正直になることができないものです。
人を傷つけることを恐れたり、大したことではないと自分に言い聞かせて、話し合いから逃げてしまいます。
意見がぶつかることは必要です。
それが話し合いの本質だからです。
ですが、人を傷つけることはしたくないですから、「あのプレーは良くなかった」と伝えるのは本当に難しいことです。
良い伝え方のテクニックがあったり、侮辱する意図がなかったとしても、間違いを指摘することは簡単ではありません。
しかし、重要な瞬間や成績が落ち込んでいる時など、チームを救ってくれたのは本音をぶつける話し合いでした。
本音で話し合い、過去をリセットして白紙の状態からチームを立て直せば、またすばらしいチームとしてプレーすることができます。
