お金がない時代に工夫して渡航費用を稼いだエピソード

これはKaBuM! e-Sports時代かな。良い写真だ。
確か2014年で、始めてCS:GOの国際大会に出場した時だと思う。
この大会に出場するために、みんなで貯金していた給料を全て突っ込んだんだ。
メンバーは双子のLUCAS1、HEN1。それにfer、あとはsteelだったかな？
当時の給料は月に300ドルくらいで、それを半年分くらい貯めていたのを大会の渡航費に使ったんだ。
ユニフォームの袖にGames Academyというロゴがあるでしょ？
当時やっていたCounter-Strikeを教えるプロジェクトなんだ。
驚いたことに、このプロジェクトで得たお金を使って国際大会に挑戦すると発表したら登録者が倍増した。
みんな応援の気持ちで参加してくれたんだよ。本当にすごかった。
その月だけで生徒が200人から400人になって、遠征費用を全てまかなうことができた。

すごすぎ。Games Academyはどうやって思いついたの？

最初は2010年に始めた「FalleN Academy」かな。
家計が厳しい状態だったけどプレーは続けたかった。
でもCounter-Strikeは2009～2010年くらいはあまり盛り上がっていなかった。
そこで「何とかしないと」と思っていたんだ。
ある日、デスマッチをプレーしていたら1人のプレイヤーと知り合った。後からDiego Morganという人だと知るんだけど。彼に「Fire GamersのTシャツを売ってくれない？」と聞かれたんだ。
その時、Counter-Strike教室のことをちょうど考えていて「Tシャツはあげるから、レッスンを受けてみない？」と提案してみた。
そしてTシャツをプレゼントするとレッスンに登録してくれた。
彼が興味を持ってくれたのを見て、「これは需要があるかも」と考えたんだ。
そこで、手広く募集して月曜から金曜日までレッスンのスケジュールを立てた。
合計30人くらいのレッスンスケジュールが埋まった。

それをやりながらチームでプレーもしていたの？

プレーもしていたよ。
YEKINDAR
それはヤバいね。1日6時間くらいしか寝れかったんじゃない？

すごく働いたよ。しばらくしてチームメイトにもプロジェクトに参加してもらって「Games Academy」が誕生したんだ。
