「Team Falcons」の「NiKo」選手が、Counter-Strikeメジャー大会『Intel Extreme Masters Cologne Major 2026』準々決勝の試合後インタビューで、前回メジャー王者「Team Vitality」との対戦を振り返りました。

―― 3マップ目までもつれ込む接戦でした。準決勝進出です。素晴らしい試合でした。

本当に激戦でした。
Vitalityが相手なので簡単な試合になるとは最初から思っていませんでした。
本当に長い一日でした。
終始、必死で戦い抜きました。
チームメイトたちを心から誇りに思っています。
終盤で惜しいラウンドを落としてしまった時でも、冷静さを保ち続けてプレーできました。
落ち着いたことで終盤には良い読みも刺さりました。
本当にホッとしています。
―― その冷静さについて聞かせて下さい。終盤にリードしていながらも武器をセーブしなければならない場面がありました。アドレナリンが出て勝ちも見えている状況で、セーブするのは難しい判断ではありませんでしたか？
NiKo
うーん、セーブするしかない状況でしたから。
大きなリードがあっても、そのラウンドを通じて勝てる確率を少しでも高めていく必要があります。そのためにセーブする判断を選びました。
勝ちを決めた最終ラウンドも自分たちの武器状況は最善ではありませんでした。
そういった状況での立ち回りをすごく改善することができていると思っています。
2～3ヶ月前だったら、無駄に武器を失ってしまい、最悪の場合は逆転負けを喫していたかもしれません。
最後までしっかりプレーすることができました。
―― そういったラウンドを取ることができるようになった背景にはどのような変化がありますか？
NiKo
いまは強烈な自信を持ってプレーすることができています。
グループステージからの勢いがあります。
グループステージでも厳しい試合がたくさんあり、何度も逆転を決めてきました。
今日も同じようにプレーすることを心がけて、その通りにプレーできました。
いまのチーム状態にとても満足しています。
2ヶ月前、Finn(karrigan)はこのチームにいるはずではありませんでした。
それが今では、メジャーの優勝候補を倒して準決勝に進出です。
本当に信じられないようなストーリーです。
そして、ここで終わるつもりはありません。
―― これでVitalityにBest of 3で4連勝、4勝0敗です。他のチームがなかなか勝てないVitalityの攻略法を、どのようにして見つけたのですか？
NiKo
あまりよくわからないですが、Vitalityに対して特別な対策をしているわけではありません。
Vitalityの中に少し苦手意識がすり込まれているのかもしれません。
自分たちはVitalityと対等以上に渡り合い勝ち越しているチームですから、そこに対してリスペクトしてくれていることもあり、いつもと違うプレーが出てしまうのかもしれません。
自分たちは特別なことをしていません。
G2時代から、自分とIlya(m0NESY)にとってVitalityとの試合は相性が良かった、というか、常に楽しくエキサイティングなものだったと思います。
今回も最終的に勝つことができてうれしいです。
―― 準決勝でのプレーも楽しみにしています。最後に1つ聞かせて下さい。Counter-Strikeについてです。本日、Counter-Strikeは27回目の誕生日を迎えました。今日は本当にすごい試合でした。前の試合も手に汗握る展開でオーバータイムの連続です。Falconsも3マップにもつれ込む激戦をほぼフルラウンドで競い合い勝利しました。Counter-Strikeは史上最高のゲームではないでしょうか？

Counter-Strikeが史上最高のゲームであることに疑いの余地はありません。
