デンマークを拠点とするeスポーツチーム『Astralis』の公認ファンクラブ「DanishCorner」が、公認ファンクラブとしての活動を終了することを発表しました。
DanishCornerについて
「DanishCorner」は、コミュニティによって運営されている『Astralis』の公認ファンクラブです。
『Astralis』新たな方向へ進む取り組みの一環として、デンマーク国籍のHooXi選手、jabbi選手との契約が年末で終了したあとに再契約しない方針を発表しました。

今回、HooXiとjabbiの契約終了によってデンマーク人選手がロスターのコアではなくなることを受け、「DanishCorner」は公認ファンクラブとしての活動を終了することを決定しました。
『Astralis』は世界的にもデンマークを代表するチームとして知られ、デンマーク国内でもかなりの人気を誇っています。
それゆえに、「DanishCorner」はデンマーク主体のチームでなくなる『Astralis』の公認ファンクラブとして活動することができないと判断したことは理解できる部分がもあります。
仮に日本のeスポーツチームが日本人選手1人を残して全員を海外選手に切り替えた場合、それでもチームを応援し続けられる人と、これまでと同じようには応援できなくなる人に分かれると思います。
今回の「DanishCorner」は、デンマーク人選手を中心とするチームであることを重視していたため、公認ファンクラブとしての活動を終了する決断に至ったのだと思います。

DanishCorner 声明
AstralisがHooXiおよびJabbiとの契約終了を決定し、チームの中心選手がデンマーク国籍ではなくなるニュースを受け、DanishCornerの運営委員会は公認ファンクラブとしての役割から身をひくことを決定しました。
DanishCornerは公認ファンクラブではなくなりますが、Astralisファンのための独立したコミュニティとして活動を継続していきます。
決定は決して容易なものではありませんでした。
私たちはDanishCornerをより大きなものとするために多大な労力、時間、費用を費やしてきました。決して軽々しく下した決断ではありません。
私たちとAstralisの間にわだかまりはありません。
今回の決定をAstralisという組織に対する攻撃と受け取ってほしくありません。
今回のロスター変更を受けて、公認ファンクラブとしての活動を継続することは適切ではないという結論に達したに過ぎません。
私たちは数年間にわたりAstralisを中心とする強固なファンコミュニティ構築に尽力してきました。
残念ながら、チームの成績が安定しなかったことやイベントでチームと交流する機会が減少したことにより、私たちが思い描いていた形でコミュニティを発展させることが難しくなりました。
努力してきましたが、望んでいた方法でプロジェクトを成長させることができませんでした。
DanishCornerをサポートし、イベントに参加し、今日のコミュニティを共に作り上げていただいたすべての方々に心から感謝します。
公認ファンクラブとしての役割には別れを告げることになりますが、今後もみなさんがコミュニティの一員であり続けてくださることを願っています。
運営委員会を代表して、みなさまのご支援、共有した素晴らしい思い出、そして一緒に過ごした時間に対して心からの感謝をお伝えします。
